Fall 2006 Newsletter Were a few weeks back from another informative and entertaining conference and have started planning as a new executive for next year's conference. This years conference highlights started with a presentation from our members from Carleton and UWO on preparation and development for VOIP deployment, followed later in the day from our members from U of T on a new offering available, an emergency response management system they recently rolled out. Bell, Microsoft and Aruba dazzled us with a wide array of various wireless and mobility offerings some of us presently employ, while getting a hint of products of the near future. Speech Recognition was front and center with presentations from U of O on planning and preparation, followed by an enlightening hands-on presentation from our new members from U of T Mississauga. Meanwhile, Jim Fletcher of Sheridan provided us with a success story of OCUTINA branding that can save all members money. Come visit us at www.ocutina.org and see the new look. This year because of some of the content of the presentations, we have been asked to put the presentations in the member's only area. If you with to see the presentations please fill out the web form and a username and password will be sent to you. Throughout this Agenda we managed to squeeze in a General meeting and election in which the voting was close forcing a re-count to have the following members as your new executive: President: Paul Bottone University of western Ontario VP Universities: Richard Lefebvre Carleton University VP Colleges: Chris Decheneaux Sheridan Institute of Technology Secretary/Treasurer: Lilliane Brunet Laurentian University Communications: George Green Ryerson University Social Convenors: Carol-Ann Roberts, Jane Gordon Seneca College. Past President: Johanne Rhioux Laurentian University Our planning for next year includes possible re-location of the conference we would appreciate any suggestions. We would hope that any member would step up with suggestions on presentations they would like to see at the next conference. As well if there are any members with recent or planned projects that you could share with the group. Thanks The OCUTINA Executive
